NGC 869 & NGC 884

The Double Cluster in Perseus.

These two open star clusters are some of the night sky’s most beautiful wide field object. Located in the northwest corner of the constellation Perseus, they are about half way out to the edge of our Milky Way galaxy. On a dark night, they are visible as a soft glow to the naked eye, with a telescope they burst into two rich pools of colorful stars.
